  15. More Information
  1. Is this a fad business?

Absolutely not! Unlike game machines, candy and snack machines are a very stable business. Name brand candies (such as M & Ms, Reese's Pieces, Good n' Plenty, etc.,) are the foundation of our success.

  2. What kind of candy do I use?

These are just a few: (There are over 60 different types to choose from!)

Gourmet Jelly Beans Trail Mix Pistachios Mike & Ike's
Chocolate Peanuts Hot Tamales Small Gumballs Raisinettes
    Skittles Runts Chicklets Peanuts
Carob Raisins Yogurt Raisins Cashews Peanuts
  3. How much candy does the Vendstar 3000 hold?

Each machine holds up to 25 pounds of candy/snacks, approximately 8.5 pounds in each of the three interchangeable canisters.

  4. How much does the candy cost per vend?

Based on your adjustable settings, your candy cost should be 4 - 8 cents per vend. We recommend keeping your average cost between 20 and 25%, giving you a 75% to 80% profit margin.

  5. How often do I service each machine?

The average is once every four weeks. If the machine is placed in a high volume area, you may want to place an additional Vendstar 3000 with different selections.

  6. How much time does it take to service a location?

Anywhere between five to ten minutes.

  7. How many Vendstar 3000 machines can I service?

One person could service 500 - 600 machines comfortably. An average of 25 - 40 machines per day would be normal.

  8. Do I need a truck or a van?

No. Most people service their routes with their existing vehicle.

  9. Can I operate from my home?

Yes, of course. There is no need for an expensive office or warehouse.

  10. How many Vendstar 3000 machines can I own?

We have route operators with as few as 10 machines and as many as several thousand. It depends on how much you want to make and how much time you are willing to invest.

  11. Where is the best place to buy the candy?

All popular candy and snack items are readily available from your Vendstar distributors. Your Vendstar representative can also help you establish a buying relationship with a local supplier.

  12. How do I find locations?

The Vendstar team can provide you with a list of locating companies nationwide, and you can select the one which best suits your needs. We also offer a business development kit which can teach you how to locate your machines and also assist you in the day to day operation of your business. In addition, we can also provide you with a list of national charities with affiliate programs which will open many doors for you (applies to US vendors/distributors).

  13. Do I need any special training?

No. We do have a Customer Service and Technical Support Department which can offer you assistance in the operation of your machine and your business.
